This is my first year in the Highland School District and I am very excited to get to know the staff and families here! I hold a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Washington and have work experience in affordable housing, social services, after-school programs, school counseling, among others. I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri, but made my way out to the Yakima Valley in 2012. In my free time I love to hike, camp, run, and eat ice cream!

What is my role?

I will be teaching classroom lessons using the Second Step Curriculum on topics such as calming down techniques, problem solving, and how to address bullying

I will be leading weekly small groups for students who need extra support in areas such as social skills, grief and loss, family changes, anxiety, impulse control, and more.

Finally, I will be available to any student or parent that has concerns about social and emotional well-being, including academic concerns.

My mission is to treat all students with dignity and respect, to build emotional regulation and social problem-solving skills, and be proactive in securing a safe, challenging, and rewarding education for all.
