Dear Tieton Intermediate School students and parents,

The 2020-21 school year will be another unique experience. Due to the current impact of COVID-19 in Yakima County and throughout our state, Highland will be beginning the school year in a remote learning format. With the anticipation that this would happen, we have been working throughout the summer to be able to provide a more robust distance learning model for our students. Daily schedules will look differently than an in-school model. This schedule was created to provide flexibility and access to instruction, activities, and assessments that will take place each day.  The weekly schedule for Tieton Intermediate School through October 30, 2020 will be as follows: students will have core math and core English from 9:30am-11:30am each day (except Wednesday) and we will be scheduling small groups based on student availability throughout the rest of the day.   Small groups shall include, but not limited to:SPED Support, EL Interventions, TITLE Math Support, Focused Interventions, Learning Extensions.  On Wednesday, students will have science, social studies, and a personal growth lesson from 9am-11am.

All teachers will have office hours throughout the day, including in the evenings.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday- ALL students should be attending a Zoom meeting 9:30am-11:30am
Wednesday- All students should be attending a Zoom meeting- 9am-11am.
Small group time- Up to one hour of small group time per subject area will be scheduled with each student
based on availability and academic need of each student.

All students will have at least 30 minutes of independent work time for math and for English.  Students are also required to read for at least 20 minutes independently each school day.
